Scottish Ministers are recruiting a Chair and a new member to the Scottish Housing Regulator’s board.

George Walker, Chair of the Scottish Housing Regulator said:

“This is an excellent opportunity to join our team to help safeguard and promote the interests of tenants and service users, especially during these particularly challenging times in social housing. We are working with Scottish Ministers to recruit a new Chair and a new Board member as I and other colleagues come to the end of our appointment terms.

“We are asking all our stakeholders to help us promote these opportunities. We want to attract candidates from all walks of life; with a range of viewpoints and life experiences. In particular I’d like to encourage applications from women and other underrepresented groups in Scottish public life.

“I would encourage applicants to read our information pack and watch the related information videos. I would also like to invite anyone interested to look out for and attend our virtual information event later in February 2025. More information about these and how to sign up will be available on the Scottish Public Bodies website very soon.”

The Scottish Housing Regulator is led by a Board of non-executives members appointed by Scottish Ministers. The Board sets the Regulator’s strategic direction and has responsibility for governance and oversight of SHR.  The closing date for applicants is 10 March 2025.
